Many companies cut costs by using cheap base materials like H2 or H3 timber — these are not designed for ground contact and often start to rot after just 2–3 years. Unfortunately, it’s nearly impossible to check this once the deck is finished.
We use only: H4 treated timber (designed for contact with soil or high moisture) or aluminium subframe, for a longer lifespan and zero risk of rot.
If we use timber, we also apply a special waterproof protective tape, extending the base life to 10+ years.
Composite decking is made from a mix of wood fibres and recycled plastics, offering the natural appearance of timber with none of the drawbacks. Unlike traditional wood, composite boards don’t warp, crack, or rot, and they require virtually no ongoing maintenance.
